Tribute & Message From The Family

Mr. Rodney Wayne Palmer, "Uncle Wayne," of New Bern, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the age of 60. He was a loving son, wonderful brother, and a devoted uncle. He worked at Bosch for more than 17 years and enjoyed bowling, visiting the Cherokee casino and watching football, especially the Alabama Crimson Tide. He also liked to watch John Wayne movies and was a collector of Native American (Cherokee Nation) artifacts. Perhaps his greatest love was spending time with his family and making them laugh with his ingenious sense of humor and pranks.

A service to celebrate his life will be 4 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Pollock-Best Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Danny Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Jack Palmer.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Palmer of the home; his sister, Jackie Palmer Broadway and her friend Ricky of Cove City; his niece, Amy Palmer Burris and husband Jeremy of New Bern; great niece, Tayler Lynn Smith and great nephew, Caleb Garrett Burris.

Family of Wayne Palmer,
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I worked with Wayne at BSH Home Appliances for 12 years. Wayne was a true friend and he loved his family dearly. Wayne always had a word of encouragement, he was always a gentleman, always willing to help out and very independent. He will be missed by all that knew him.
