Tribute & Message From The Family

Leta Mae Dunn, 85, died Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Sterling House. She was born January 5, 1923, in Olympia, daughter of the late Frank and Bessie McGhee Dunn.

Miss Dunn worked at Cherry Point and retired after 35 years. She was a devoted and faithful member of Centenary United Methodist Church, and very active in the Bible study at the Bishop Home. As one of her nieces said, ¯Aunt Leta Mae was a gardener of soil and souls.¯ She was an excellent cook, loved flowers, and no doubt will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Mason, Jessie Dunn and a brother, Carol Dunn. Surviving are three brothers, Frank Dunn, Jr. and wife, Janie of Corpus Christi, TX, David Dunn and wife, Millie of Auburn, CA, and Larry Dunn and wife, Judy of Virginia Beach, VA; nieces and nephews, Joyce M. Moore, Betty M. Snow, Steve Mason of New Bern, Alathea McKinley of Texas, Kay Huffman of Newport, Paul Dunn of Texas, Vickie Smith of Arizona, Evalyn Harding of Chocowinity, Joe Dunn of South Carolina, Susie Deans of Greenville, Becky Dunn, Curt Dunn and Cheryl Palange of California; Sidney Dunn of Virginia, Carol McDaniels of Hickory and Anthony Dunn of Virginia; and many great- nieces and great-nephews.

Good ole' Leta Mae!

What a sweet lady. She let me shoot a shotgun, drive a tractor, and took us to Sonic.

She was our friend, and a true individual. I will never forget our visits with Leta Mae.

Love
